I am building a BU SA Smoothie, in fact I have a thread in the Balsa Building section. John.

Finished this winter Orion-Jr, Outlaw, Prairie Dawg, and now working on DH-53 Hummingbird, all electrics.

Two projects on the board (pictures and links in my RCG blog):

WS42" Peter Rake 1/8 Albatross DII
WS40" scratchbuild sport flyer based on the Just-4-Fun (old FM plan from the 80s)

Will be followed by a 1/12 Cessna Bird Dog. Also looking into a replacement for my motorized glider.

Our club needs a REAL trainer, so I'm bringing my 25+year old Butterfly up to flying status. Then put my 50cc. 3W engine back on my 29% Cap .....then maybe I start working on the Ohio Extra 300 kit..........ya gotta love the smell of balsa in the morning!

I wanted to try something different, and to make some fresh footprints in the snow so I'm putting the finishing touches on the Hobby King Red Swan balsa laser cut "kit" (I've got a long-winded build thread on it as well). It is a newer kit so there is extremely limited help available. The instructions are a joke, details and pictures are wrong, recommended hardware on the HK website is spotty at best, and the wood selection was done by the "close your eyes and grab it" method, and to top it off they did a poor job laser cutting it. Other than that it has been a fun adventure of a build.

Just finishing this totally bashed Tiger 60.

1/4 DH-5, two 1/5 arf-bash Fokker Drl's, 1/6 SIG Cub bash into a Super Cruiser, 1/4 Bonzo, 80" Boeing B-9, IK-3, Nakajima 'Kate' and a couple of Ringmasters. Just finished a sailplane, the Balestruccio, so started drawing plans for another, latest and greatest sailplane! Just finished gutting, remodeling and installing tenants in my rental house so now I can start airplanes again.

A Pat Tritle Stinson short-kit, a few weeks from being done.

Scratch-build of fuselage and tailplane for a Mini-Ultra Stick wing that was given to me by a friend.

Scratch-build of fuselage and tailplane for some mini Funtana wings I picked up at a swap meet for $10.

A Skeeter 30 that's been on hold and nearly complete for a couple years now, as the plane it was meant to replace refuses to die.

Winter weather still in effect so all builds are proceeding in parallel, and no urgency in any of them. No shortage of work to be done, that's for sure.

My current project is a plans built, Doc Mathews design of a 1929 Monoprep.

The model has a 72" span. It will be covered in Solartex, and painted with Rustoleum. Power will be an OS 61FS

My wife and spent a lot of time looking at paint schemes and sort of borrowed one that was on a Citabria.

A Graupner Micro Magic sailboat.

With a full hanger of about twenty planes (no more storage space), no major build going on this winter. Used the time to upgrade the fleet and recommission a couple of planes. One had loose ailerons (internal bell crank problems) that were fluttering and another got new wing sections (fuselage survived a flat spin to the ground but the wings caught tree limbs).

Most of the fleet was upgraded to LiFe batteries and two thirds of it was converted to 2.4.

A sailboat was brought to the field with some other RC gear for disposal and claimed for me by some friends who knew I was interested in acquiring one. It had a broken mast and was missing the rudder so needed some love and is now re-commissioned and sailing well.

As noted above, my next build is another sailboat... have it on the boards but not done much on it yet except acquiring the necessities.
