Instructions for cover vintage model aircraft of silk

I'm looking for old manual how to cover an airplane silk in 1950.
What kind of adhesive is used?

Hi,
Sorry but your English isn't really clear...
You say you are looking for a manual (a book), but I think that maybe you only want instructions for covering in silk.
I have two answers:
1. If you are good at covering in tissue, by far the easiest method, and the best result, is obtained by ironing the silk with a fairly cool iron, so that it is not creased or wrinkled, and then just doping it directly onto tissue. Some people, more modern than me, dope silk (or tissue, etc.) onto plastic film, but I still prefer tissue.
2. If you really want written instructions, there are plenty that can be scanned and posted here. I have some old American packs of silk that come with detailed instructions actually written by Walt Musciano. Those instructions could be scanned as well...
Finally, the adhesive used is either dope or dope and thinners, depending on whether you attach the silk actually to the framework, or whether you are doping it onto tissue.
If you're not an expert (neither am I!), it will be much easier to dope onto tissue.

I don't know of any specific manual devoted exclusively to covering with silk. Is this for your collection or edification?

If instructions are what you're looking for, look no further than Dave Platt's Back to Basics DVD.

I used these instructions, taught to me by his source, on my first silk job back in '98. It still looks great and placed at Toledo.

I renovated the model aircraft in 1942 and it is covered with silk, and I need to procedure for this period!
