He was working in the last contest and did not get to finish. As long as the subject of a build has not successfully flown, it's fair game to re-enter until he gets 'er done.

No one wanted to discourage folks from doing something extraordinary, like a giant scale, or make them feel like quitting a project if work or family circumstances prevented a timely completion.

Only builds that are flown get judged in the particular contest. If a build has flown, it cannot be entered.

Ah. I thought each one had to start new again like as at 1st April this year...
I will have to start mine soon too I guess. It will be a vintage Wakefield model for RC & electric.

My build for the last contest, a 130% Blackburn Skua from Earl Stahl FF plans was just at 90 calendar days from decision to flight.

Old_Pilot (Charlie),
If you need anything, let me know. When you have the build thread established you can post a link here and I'll add it.

Note: if anyone needs/wants to prototype their thread, there is a separate "Test Forum" where you can work things out without risking "losing face"

I will add this information to the FAQ.

My Carl Goldberg Eagle restoration is proceeding nicely. I think I will start a Build Thread for this contest, so I'll have the option to finish if life permits.

I think Bill Hannan's "One Knight in Boston", built in a 30-inch span (188%) 3-channel, will do.....

Got you added, Old_Pilot. The link you posted was to your overall blog. I took the liberty of getting the address of the specific build thread and using that.

David,

I just returned from China. Do I understand the contest rules right? I can finish out my build from the previous contest in this contest since it never flew? I feel a little guilty bringing a half-built project to the party, but I have decided before I start a new build, i do want to finish this one.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1772878

My build skills are not advanced, so I am slow. But these contests help me stay focused on seeing the build through to the finish.

Yes sir, the "stay focused" and "have fun" is the entire reason for having the event. It's more important that you finish... finishing is winning! As long as a previous build has NOT flown, it is eligible. I'm hoping to do that 56-inch span YC-122 cargo plane one of these days. It might take three contests to finish.

Just go into "advanced edit" on post 1 of your build thread and change the title to conform to the standard

I think I am going to sit this one out David. I have started on a 40" CR-32 scratch build that I am converting from nitro/Metric to electric/SAE and it's frying my brain right now. Glad to see conrad907 back on that Beaver...LOL, no pun intended....

Since David has already blagged the one I might have been tempted by I'll simply offer the same prize as for the kitbash - if prize is quite the right word. The winner gets a selection of aircraft prints. How many depends on how many classes there are.
