Pre-Production 91" Extreme Flight Yak Prototype

In July, FlyingGiants.com and Extreme Flight RC held a design scheme contest. FlyingGiants.com user r0beert0 submitted the winning design!

We now hear from r0beert0 as he gets a sneak peek at the results:

The pre-production prototype 91” Yak 54 from Extreme Flight RC with my winning color scheme entry from the color scheme contest held back in July 2012 is in it’s final stages before approval for production. Keep an eye out for it at www.extremeflightrc.com

The stars on SteveT's 72" extra are a custom design. Everyone should just stop copying SteveT and Nachoscheese stuff.

Guys....I'm sorry, if I had known that my commenting about the stars would have caused a commotion, I would not have said anything. I meant nothing derogatory (as I really like stars and stripes on planes), just said it reminded me of it to a certain extent.

As to "long Leng's" comment, he is a die hard HK fan, and there are a couple of threads dealing with Hobby King planes that used (in one case) a direct copy of one of 3DHS's schemes (down to the "Fly the best" sticker), on a plane that is a direct copy of one of 3DHS's designs. They also used a scheme, that while not a direct copy, is very close on another plane...Unfortunately, He was on one of the main antagonists on these threads......

Again, I am sorry for this....

well steve, dont know your intention about posting a picture of a 3dhs plane right under the introduction of an ef plane. and claiming some stars similarity.

however, not a big problem, i just think it would be better to post things like this after page 5 or so.

All I said was it reminded me of that...and I had already said the plane was very nice....and this is my last comment to you on the subject, as I don't wish to argue with you...

SteveT, I don't think anyone read your post as an accusation that EF copied someone's schemes. Anyway, the new scheme is a contest winner (contest thread at FG, r0beert0's entry here), so it's just something Chris thought was cool.

I must poison a flying buddy with this plane... he's been looking at getting a new 50cc and he likes yaks. Heh heh heh

Yes it is!! And I also really like Yak 54's (not so much 55's) and Sukhoi 26MX's. There is an old saying.... "Real airplanes have two wings and round engines" round engines (or cowls) are close enough....
