Question
Thunder Tiger SB-1 sub question

I'm soon to be in possession of a Neptune SB 1 submarine. The issue with the sub is that it does not include a transmitter.

I wanted to know what my alternatives were for a transmitter? I have a dx6i for my helis, could I just pick up a receiver and use my dx6i?

Any input is appreciated.

The frequency for surface in US is 75MHz. and 2.4 GHz will not work for a sub.

Would a Futaba 7cap transmitter work for this sub?

I believe it is digital but it's at 72 MHz

Would I need to use the 7 channel futaba reciever?

I realize I don't need 7 channels

not knowing how the auxiliary controls are mapped on the sub, i would give ThunderTiger a call and see how difficult it would be to get a replacement transmitter:

I called them up an determined that I'd need a 27mhz and 75mhz transmitter so the 7cap would not work. I was hoping someone on this forum had tried something other than stock.

i also found this after a google search, give them a call and see if they have your frequency in stock. if they don't you will need to find crystals or a new receiver as well.

I know this is an old thread. but I got a radio set from Mike's subworks. It came with my SRV-1 submarine. I was able to control my Neptunes from that transmitter. It is a beautiful radio set. Get a programmable 75 MHz transmitter and you will be fine. I have two of my Neptunes programmed into it. and the SRV-1 if I ever get this radio tray figured out.
