Speedo PNP Electric 1.2m

Skip Miller has a killer new plug-and-play electric sailplane called the Speedo!

Speedo PNP Electric 1.2m Just add RX

The Speedo 1.2 is now offered in an electric plug-and-play version. We have taken the already popular and great-flying Speedo 1.2 and made it into a fun electric you can fly at any time. The Speedo Electric uses the same wings as the Speedo 1.2 slope version but has an electric-specific fuse. The plane comes PNP (plug-and-play) so all you need to supply is your receiver. It's an amazing deal and a blast to fly. Assembly time is about an hour.

Can I get one without the charger and if so, how much? My cellpro works great so don't need another charger.

Speedo

I just assembled one of these for a friend, and I found there were a few issues which made it more than a 1 hour job.
1. Canopy hold-down wire was rubbing on the motor, causing a scratched motor can because we all pick up a model and turn its prop don't we? Corrected by shortening and bending the wire.
2. The v-tail mount is a little fragile. When bolting on the v-tail assembly be aware that the fuselage tube at that point is VERY thin. I cracked the one I was building and so I inserted a cut down nylon spacer from the tail end to prevent further crushing.
3.The black look of the fuselage pod is done with black paint, which easily scratches off during handling. A Magic Marker fixes that.
4. A micro RX is a must. The Spectrum 6 channel will fit.
With everything in the suggested position, it balances perfectly.
I don't know if this one has flown yet, but I saw my friend yesterday and he is still speaking to me!!

Sorry, no pictures. I tend to build and then get them out of the workshop as soon as possible. I will ask my friend, who has now flown the model, and is STILL speaking to me, if I can get it back for some photographs.
