Build thread for V-22-esque Bicopter with full transition capabilities

I've actually started building my next bicopter. I'll admit, it has temporarily distracted me from some of my other endeavors, such as my cube. I need at least a couple projects going at the same time so that I don't get burned out on a single one.

Anyway, this build will will be able to rotate the nacels a full 90 degrees, which each have their own tilt mechanism. I splurged and bought a couple of the prebuilt pivots from hobbyking.

Parts list will be kept here, on pinterest

I actually busted out the frame a lot quicker than I thought I would be able. My goals for this build are also to make it more modular, and less hot glue. I want to be able to fix things a lot simpler.

Will do and thanks!

My goal would be to have this in the air by the multirotor event in North County San Diego in the end of March. (Even though it is not eligible for the pylon racing event )

March 23-24 in Fallbrook. Although I won't be able to compete in some of the competitions, I was hoping to at least get a working bicopter to take and show off (and show all those octos out there that they have too many motors )

I actually built my own flight controller that uses an L3G4200 gyro and an NXP LPC1343. The firmware is all custom, too. It uses FreeRTOS. One of these days i'll post it somewhere.

I'm actually torn. I have a KK and will either put it in this or my cube. The problem is, I don't have an AVR programmer to modify the firmware. I need to pick one up before I decide which FC I put in it, otherwise I'll default to my own.

Slowly piecing this thing together. Unfortunately my day job is currently occupying a large portion of my time which means I have less time to work on this.

A little more progress. Hopefully this weekend I'll get the motors and landing gear mounted. I expect the AUW to be around 500g. A little heavier than I had hoped, but should still have around 1200g of thrust. Should be good.
