Question
Fibreglass F-35 or F-22 with wingspan <=1,11m on the market?

Hello all,

i am searching for a F-35 or F-22 completely made of fibreglass with a wingspan smaller than 1,12m () for a single 80 or 90mm edf unit. All basic controls should be realizable (rudder, elevator, ailerons; preferably with one servo per flap) and i would further like to add retracts and gear doors. Does anyone know where i can buy such a plane?

With best regards,

Hazel

Thank you very much for the link, Ken Lapointe. But what does 'molded' exactly mean? Are the wings already covered with fibreglass? Sorry for my perhaps dumb question, but i am not a native speaker .

Greetings,

Hazel

Hmm,

not much feedback so far, perhaps i should go for a composite model and then coat the wings by myself?

Thank you very much for your information so far!

I guess, i have already two very good options now, Oakdale F-35 or Jepe F-22. I will have to glass them by myself, but what shalls. I wanted to incorporate rudder and aileron functions anyway, so here i have the possibility to even build in seamless silicon hinges, position lights and so on .

But if anyone knows a vendor that offers these things already ready to fly, then please tell me though, because regretfully i havent so much time for building anymore .

With best regards,

Hazel

The hobby king/ pro design/ Kondor f-22 is an option, it would be a pain to get a single fan in it (its set up for twin 70s). It's the size your looking for, they do end up flying good, after a lot of work....

Molded

when most say molded it is because the plane was molded from fiberglass..if it is fully molded then all the wings and tail parts are made from fiberglass also.

You can look at the manual, its on the web site
Fuse is molded, wings are foam that need to be sheeted with balsa and covered how you want.

I would use a high powered 70mm fan in that EDF, 90mm is really larger than needed and a pain to fit in there

In case of the Oakdale F-35 i planned to use an ejets jetfan 80 together with 6s yielding a static thrust of approximately 2.5-3.0kg. I guess that this would fit and work? Btw, does anyone have an overview schematic for the Oakdale F-35? I would be so glad to have such a thing, especially to get an impression of the available space in the fuselage.

Regards,

Hazel

PS.: I couldn't find the building thread on RC Jets International, is there an online version available?

I just picked up a nitro f-45 today, its a composite model, the owner could not remember the name of the kit and said he thought the manufacturer was out of buisness. Well after surfing threw dozens of pictures i came to this thread!! im 99.9 percent sure this is a oakdale! can anyone else confirm this? Its got a K&B .35, it was never flown! the seller gave me air retracts and gear. The gear he gave me is to big! so if someone can tell me where i can find gear that would fit i would greatly appreciate! I think i may go with mechanican retracts due to there is no room with the nitro set up for retracts! This plane is crammed! i have no idea how you can even adjust the carb due to its all sealed up!
