Garage Door Sensor Rear Bumper Detection

I need a small tx 4-5volt @ 2ma ..
I'm adding a second garage door rcvr at bumper level
The intent is to detect when the rear bumper clears and turn
on a large STOP light ....

I don't want to run wire from door to front of garage...
I thought I could key a low power carrier and detect it ...
I'm looking for a very simple way to do this ,, but with the low current
limit its getting difficult..

any suggestions would be appreciated....

It's a garage, so just run a wire. Way cheaper, especially if you value your time at all. There's lots of beam sensors out there, if you've got a legal garage door opener it should already have a beam sensor. Just move it to bumper level and hook it up to the light.

If you move it to bumper level then you can kill your pets....

Will run a wire as last resort...

I think I will use a 3cell nicad pack and try to keep it charged
see ver 1 attached.

Does anybody know of any cheap toys with 3 volt transmitter
simple stop/go protocol?

Standard garage doors already have a reverse, where if they hit anything they reverse. There's no real reason for the beam, but certainly there's nothing that says 2 inches is better than 1 foot height as far as preventing danger.

I guess I'll just run a wire and hide it behind baseboard and connect to
appropiate circuit...
