...I wish someone would produce one here in the States...and I bet you thought you were going to see one....sorry...just hoping to attract someone into designing/producing one....

I love the 32" Nirvana, but with production problems now, we need a replacement boat to attract newbies to the club/hobbie. The Nirvana has been great at doing that until now, but a 1meter could do so much more to include race other 1 meter class boats and if done right could replace the Nirvana as a great entry boat.

So...calling all manufacturers....

PS...it has to be RTR or ready to sail...like the Nirvana.

Thanks...I'm familar with all the current AMYA registered classes.

I should have said it needs to be RTR...or ready to sail for the absolute beginner...like the Nirvana....

I might be wrong but wasn't Chidago talking about a new boat that was in the works. Suppose to be better and faster then the Nivrana at abour the same cost.

One metre class boats may have been conceived as entry level and cheap, but few would argue that is true today. this is largely due to the Rules but also because of the higher loads on larger boats.

The RG65 is a developmental class - if it is not in the rules as illegal it is legal. It is possible to make a winning boat out of balsa wood if you want, ie there is no racing advantage using exotic or expensive materials.. It fits in a small car fully rigged. It is an international Class.
A major cost and/or impediment to sailing is the construction and need for multiple rigs. A conventional sloop rig is too complicated and costly to make, trim and difficult to store and transport, especially for an entry level boat. The RG65 is small enough to use an unstayed, self excess load dumping, balanced Unarig like the McCormack. These are easy and cheap to make, change and store and are a major advantage to a beginner.

All commercial boats are made in China. This one is designed in England.

The Micro Magic Racing is made in Germany (still not the USA I know...) for now!

The RTR MM is however made in China--or at least assembled there.

I hear that of this week Graupner is now declared in the courts bankrupt.

This is true. They are receiving some sort of bankruptcy protection from the German government, so hopefully they will emerge after some restructuring.

The MM is very, very popular worldwide (perhaps only topped in popularity by the IOM) so that has to count for something!

How can you quote that, do you know of ever home built boat around the world that is not registered

How can any one quote what the most popular class is, I won't be amazed if it was a HK boat, because of amount of them that are on eBay second hand every week.
