That is really striking, needs a wig. But Otto's version won't scare children, this one would scare me, even if I was flying it!
Great job.

I did see a rather enticing Hulk head at Meijers a couple days ago... but I overcame the urge to buy it. After seeing yours, it is harder to overcome this urge.

Thanks Otto for all his great ideas and creations.

There's something much wilder in the works.

Otto, you reduced the subject down to just a single word... I will be patient...

hinged hands

Has anyone tried hinging the hands for increased roll and pitch control? tempted but not in love with the idea.

My flyguy is looking increasingly evil.

I am delayed in getting started on mine, but that is what I wanted to do. it will be just like ailerons, not so much like rotating hands.

I did a swivel wing tip thing on a Kadet Senior I had, and it was a wonderful way to have roll control without any adverse yaw at all. Friends who flew my Kadet said it "felt" smooth and very controllable. But the Kadet would not fly knife edge anymore, it seems that adverse yaw is key to flying knife edge. Also it was hard on the servos, stripping gears out, but that would be easy to fix with today's servos...

I did .. with a single 9gm servo for a smaller FlyGuy (41"). Planning to use 2 servos on my next Flyguy (62") and see the difference in pitch control, too. BTW I love what you did with the head so I bought one, too. Did it had much effect on the flight characteristics?

41" RC Flyguy aileron modification (1 min 8 sec)

Ouch, what did happen?
Also I see your application was more like conventional ailerons. I like that better than actual "swivel hands", meaning, to me, that half of the hand goes up, half goes down. Easier to visualize as a swiveling wingtip, like I did on my Kadet.

The Kadet Sr. hanging up for a display in a local school.
The swivel wingtips gave amazing smooth control, but was tough on the servos, need metal gear type commonly available today.

I forgot the timer and the juice ran out. Nothing serious - just a cracked rib cage

I like your swivel tips. I hope to try it on a future build.

Mine doesn't ... but I don't know if it's just my build being too heavy as I haven't read anyone else with the same problem.

Looks good, I'll try that as well... mine flew ok on a short test flight with the head although I have nothing to compare it to as I built it like that. I did find the roll slow despite big throws on the feet. Not had a chance to test it again but I will as soon as the wx here in the UK sorts itself out.

I've found it is all about wing loading and drag. The suit flyguys all glide better than the standard flyguy due to greater surface area. The big head on Jack in the Box adds so much drag that he glides like the space shuttle.
