There is two way for roll axis motor

Use propeller adapter and nuts (need 5mm drill) or direct screw (need 9mm drill).
First way is advantage for camera balance when the 5mm channel extended to the left side.

Tilt motors fits to left side when the 2mm screw hole drilled to 3mm.
two hole distance is 19mm like the motor mount screw hole distance.
well fits the tilt motors.

One side of the propeller saver adapter is 5mm (caming with motors package)
this parts fit in the second aluminium parts left side (camera container parts) when the aluminium parts drilled 5mm.
I used epoxy glue before before settling firmly

Controller

Nice Idea, shame about the cost of the controller.
How about starting an open src SW/HW project.

Any idea about the current load to hold position I guess its quite high.

... Simon

Well I dont know for sure but I guess you have to power 2 phases at a time and gradually change the amount of on to off ratio of each phase and then switch to the next phase in sequence. The idea is to balance the camera and move the gimbal around it, which seams like a good idea but may be difficult to set up in practice, requiring power to lock the motor and prevent the camera from falling. It would be like trying to balance a falling object i.e. with your finger under a long broom stick

^^ You need a gimbal controller which takes servo type input for roll/pitch and translates it into motor movement.

I'm sure you might be able to come up with other options as well, but that will for sure work.
