Is this stuff something new ? I saw it being used for ornamental building construction and it was very light. PVC foam. Should be very strong, and I have info on the way from the mgfr, it is called Celtec.

Have you looked at the price of that? Unless they offer some substantial discounts off retail, that's too rich for my blood!

Also, I didn't see anything about density (weight), did you?

I think this stuff is more dense. I think coroplast will win.

Standard sheet size measures 48” x 96”. Various weights below

3mm (.125”) = 15 lbs

6mm (.250) = 30 lbs

10mm (.375) = 37 lbs

I think that is .45lbs/sq ft with 3mm. Too much.

It isn't what I saw, the stuff was tough and light weight. I'll try to find the stuff they were sculpting door frames from.

If I was going to *order* foam, I'd probably just go with that Model Plane Foam or whatever it's called that the guys here are selling. Everyone who's tried it seems to really like it. I just always go with whatever I can find locally, whether it's Home Depot or Dollar Tree stuff. It's not like my building skills OR my flying skills will matter much which I build with.

I was looking for some hardware store stock to build 80 inch gassers with. The PVC would be much more suitable.

Not much good stuff in local stock. Most aircraft building suppliers have it all honed down.

IT IS HEAVY but it can be hot air welded with plastic welding rod to PVC pipe and to itself. BUT IT IS HEAVY. would make a killer material for your flight box!

back in he 80s I used to make a poratble booth for conventions for work. Its tough ,nice colors, comes in 4' x 8' sheets.

I will ask the construction crew if they are still working, but it is 50 miles away, not sure but I plan to go that way this week. The stuff they had was very light and foamy, but very hard and strong.
