MICRO DIESEL model engine 0.098 CC for mini rc plane (1 min 11 sec)

Not the smallest one, but definitively a video of one of the Valentine Diesels

I think just getting one to start ought to be pretty stupendous in and of itself.
If I remember correctly, you have to special mix the model diesel fuel so it has much more ether in it than normal.

Very nice engines but they are very expensive. Also I saw a 5 cylinder on the website thought that was pretty cool.

i could imagine putting one of those on a mini vapor

the smallest one amazed me though
and those different colours make them look really attractive
maybe if bill gates was into the hobby he would buy out the company

Those engines are the same price as a Saito or Rossi! I still want one though Do any of those come with a throttle arm or are they all CL type?

Isn't expecting them to run at that size allready enough?

A throttle arm? you serious? how small the plane, and what's more, how small the servo's that would allow throttle control additional to other flight controls?

Picture one shows two valentine's, the right one has long been his smallest, I was not able to make it run ! This is due to such a small propellor there is no mass. The bluehead however I managed to run using a Cox 3x1,25 on normal diesel fuel thinned with 50% ether extra, twitchy needle valve and I did use an Astro mini starter, but even then I was concerned using such a device at all ! But in my experience there is no way of starting by flipping the prop. Second picture are my other multi cylinder Valentine's but I have not tried to run them.
Yet. Another tiny I did manage tor run is my Gustaf Zapletal 0,12cc.

Yeah, I was thinking of foam with a composite firewall. Servo's would be the naked type found in the UMX planes.

like i said mass production if possible might have lowered the price and made
them more affordable
then come the small indoor planes buzzing around the gymnasiums and backyards

And he also has one of the biggest diesels I've ever seen, on show.

However: diesel has rarely been a good choice for RC because they are hard to throttle.

Back to the future... my first RC plane in the late 60's was single channel / rudder only lightweight with a Cox 049 in the sharp end. These days could do a bit more, but smaller yet again.

Diesles hard to throttle?

That myth was busted back in the early 60's sir.

Check out my classic Taplin Twin 8 cc (.49)

Taplin Twin Mk. III .49 c.i. (8 c.c.) diesel (3) (1 min 33 sec)

Pulls a 13 x 6 prop up and down the scale perfectly.

Cool. Almost sounds like a twin cylinder outboard motor.
