The smallest commercial turbine to my knowledge is the Kolibri made in Germany by Lambert, you can easily find his site on Google.

It's funny to see a glow plug sticking out the side of a turbine engine. Do you suppose there's a "diesel" model with a compression screw sticking out?

Back around 1967 - 68, I used to buy rubber band catapult plastic wing jet gliders for 5 cents a piece from the local convenience store. They looked like a mini Multiplex with about a 4.5 inch (114 mm) wingspan. They were extremely fast flying when compared to balsa gliders, best flights were to point slightly down from the horizon, watch them zoom near the ground then slowly arch up ward.

The speed of flight with these micro turbines remind me of those gliders.

Yes there are also the Jetex and the old CO2 motors too, They were pretty small. I never saw one go yet.

Yes, the little canisters sort of like a pellet gun uses. There were compressed air motors too like the Air Hogs. They just had plastic motors I think. They were kind of lame. The CO2 ones were a bit underpowered I think too but worked indoors. I believe they were made in Russia or eastern Europe.
