Alloy 64mm EDF from HK?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ey_3300Kv.html

does anyone have real experience with this unit?

What I really want to know is if you flew with a plastic 5-6 blade fan unit and added this was there significant power increase? Or better performance?

Did you need to upgrade your ESC?

Go for the 5 blade alloy EDF unit. Its my favorite. Getting nearly 3 minute flights at WOT on a 2200 4s 40c battery.

The 10 blader.. once balanced :-) makes a nice 'whoosh' sound. More like a shop vac than an air raid siren .
10 aggressively pitched blades also means a big enough motor to adequately power the thing and therefore adequate batteries to feed that hungry motor..
Sound comes at a cost.. Only you can decide what you prefer.

I am wanting to use it in my U2 from Hobby People. The planes original setup is 3s with 40amp ESC and 64 mm 5 blade fan BL 4300kv.

I am wondering if it can handle a 4s battery in its stock setup before upgrading motors? Just looking for a better launch and climb out when needed. I am also going to try a 40c discharge battery. The original batteries are 20c.

Change the esc to 50A before you try this and you should go WOT only on bursts.
