It's not just servo plugs. There is lots of stuff that could be standardized to make this hobby easier to deal with. Servo splines, servo leads, servo horns and servo screws,. X-mount bolt patterns, motor spacing, motor boxes (I'm looking at you, Sebart.), spinners and PROP COLLETS! Don't even get me started on those useless pieces of

I hate electronics/power connectors, there's probably 1.74 million different ways to connect two things together with electrical signals and a power supply together. I usually get the task of picking the right one to fit the requirements. There goes 6 hours to a few weeks. Just looking through TE/Amp puts me to sleep.

There is so much legacy stuff in this hobby. It's hard to understand why so much of it is allowed to persist.
What's going to need to happen is a combination of the old crowd dying off, and the Chinese manufacturers to bring some fresh ideas in. Because the old crowd just isn't getting it done. |
