Easy - the SS is a WAY better plane than the SV. The SV tail is sloppy/floppy, weak fuse (8mm) that's not very standard, lousy motor, weak accessories. Stock it's only really suitable for dead calm conditions.
The SS basic equip is substantially better and there is a LOT more support (thread help) for it.
I would think a guy with 2400 posts would have owned one or seen dozens.

thanks, Slow Stick it is. I once saw a SS being powered by an EDF that was mounted on top of the wing. I started with an I.C. Sig Kadet. Gas is messy and I am ready to buy electric.

Now THAT had to be a WELL reinforced SS!!!
But, it's an indication of the kind of grief builders put the SS through.
