Build update 2:
Wings glued on: - Sand the fiberglass spar to get better adhesion - Supplied glue dries fast so not much time to get teh whole together. Runny too. - Use tape to hold edges tightly together - The model didn't look that big in the box but now... Electrics: - Swapped "agricultural" Deans connector with XT-60 - Added HK 5V 5A BESC for servos - Moved ferrites closer to noise sources Prop: - For those who asked, the prop is 9 x 6 but the total space between the fins is 11 " so a 10" prop would just fit. |

Build update 3:
Fins glued on: This is tricky as the glue sets really fast. This glue is awesome - not the normal HK EPO glue. I want some. Anyway by the time you've put glue on all the faces on the body half (no need to put any glue on the fin) it's starting to go off and drags as you slide it on. Definitely practise how it tlits to slide on then tilts down to sink into the wing. Fits beautifully when on. Stickers attached: OK *this* is painfully difficult! Despite first appearances, the stickers are very thin and very sticky. Best to start from the elevon then steer it towards the nose. Use a rag or bundle of paper to smooth it out as you go. |

Looks like I have to buy some new batteries for this model.
Tomorrow I will spend a while working out exactly how much weight I need in the forward battery position then choose one from the local warehouse. I was hoping to use a 3S 3300maH pack as I have a few of those but the CG is nowhere near the right spot. Anyway, enough for today - the servos are hooked up and glued in. Just the electricals to go now. |

![]() It's also been raining all day ![]() Last picture - showing the 2mm solid carbon-fiber rod linkage I've just made up. Yes, it's not adjustable but it's much stiffer than the piano wire one that comes with the kit. I just set it up, then cyno them when perfectly aligned. |

Ran across this fairly new video this morning on YouTube. Looks like it can float along fairly slow and stable.
