Help!
lipo swelling

hi,

I have some turnigy lipos from hobbyking that i have used about 4 times.
one is slightly swollen (if i push on the middle of the side it makes a pop when the heatshrink springs back)
Cycle:
balance charge at 2.2amps (for 2200mah) with turnigy accucel 6.
Fly with my bixler fpv.
Take home and charge to storage and leave them untill i need them.

i keep them in my room. It is summer so there is verying temperature but i havent found anything that suggests this could damage them.
in my room ranges from about 25 to 40 degrees celcius.

I have moved them down stairs where it is a more constant, cooler temp.

any explenation as to why this has happened would be much appreciated as i have just recieved 2 zippy 3000mah 3s batterys and dont want to damage them.

thanks.

You say you've only used them four times, but how old are they? How long have they been stored at temperatures up to 40 degrees?

Storing at a cooler temperature can only help.

LiPo cell volts:
4.2V = full charge
3.85V = 50% charge (storage level)
3.7V = minimum at rest voltage
3.3V = minimum loaded voltage
3.0V = 0% charge. Never go below

2.2 amp charge is fine. Many, including myself, feel it would be OK to go as high as 6.6 amps.

thanks glen,

How long do your turnigy lipos last at high charge rate?
And what is the C of a pack and how do you work it out?
