Chris Bowkers Micro Extra 330sc kits

After the popularity of my Micro Yaks I decided I wanted to do a micro version of my very successful Extra 330sc. The original model was tweaked over some time to deliver excellent aerobatic performance, good tracking, no coupling issues, axial rolls, minimal to no wing rock in high alpha, And everything else you could want from a top shelf 3D model.

I have two micro size's of the kit available, an 18" version made for 1s micro setup's like the radio gear used in the HH Micro 4Site. And the second is a 22" version made for 2s micro setup's like those found in the HH UMX Beast.

Both kits are cut/milled from genuine Gediplac(Depron Aero) foam and have pre-beveled hinges. Both kits also come with all CF rods/spars needed as well as CF control horns, Music wire, shrink tubing, Du-bro style pin hinges for push rod stand off's, vinyl graphics, a "Crash kit" containing an extra set of foam parts for the nose and a pre-cut foam canopy "mask" that can be used to recreate the same canopy lines seen on my models. The 22" version also comes with a two piece CF disk mount for the Eflight park 180 motor.
18" kits come pre-cut for the micro 4Site motor/gearbox unit, If you wish to use a 1s out runner(like the T1302) an "un-cut" nose can be requested at no extra charge, Simply state in your order comments on my webpage "brushless nose" at the time of purchase.

Painted 22" kits are available in the red and black "GT" scheme for an extra $20, painted kits take 4-7 days to ship, White kits usually ship with in 48 hours of the purchase.

Like the rest of my 3mm kits now days, the locations for all of the CF rods are marked on the foam making these kits very fast and easy to build.

I will be using the 22" version for this build, the two sizes build exactly the same apart from a couple pieces of CF bracing on the back of the fuse and the motor mount. I will show the 18" motor installation in a later post. This also not intended to be a step by step build for the rookie builder, for that please download the instruction manual for the kits on my website.

Almost finished with the build,

Ya got me for 2 of the 22" Extras. I love my umx Extra 300, but I'm tired of keeping "perfect" motors and batteries in it so it can 3D.

Thanks Tim! They will be in the mail tomorrow morning.

IMO you made the right choice, the 22" is a much better option if you want to 3D like you said. The 18" is great for sport flying, but the motor setups just lack that classic foamie punch.

My kits arrived today. Nicely boxed and damage free. Getting one assembled quickly is going to be a challenge at the moment. There's a 300x helicopter on the bench waiting for bearings to arrive. Then I've gotta clean up enough of the shop to spray some paint.

Got the hard part done this past weekend. I considered painting the top vertical of the fuselage, but the portion behind the wing looks like a candy cane to me already

I may spray the rudder, or more. Who knows. LOL

Thanks Chris for letting me fly your new 22 inch Extra last weekend at the T.I.N.Y. event. That plane was such a great flyer. I can't believe a plane so small had so much precision 3d flight characteristics. Sure am glad I got one last weekend. Can't wait to build my own!

Finished up gluing in the fuselage truss and started wondering:

What size CF rod is supposed to be used for the fuselage truss? Mine is done with the .8 mm rod leaving the .6 mm for the pushrods? Oops (I think)
