Platyhelminthes VI pylon racer

Has anyone ever seen this plane fly? They have plans over at the AMA sight for like $9. Looks pretty fast to me for 1985.

No, never seen one, but it's a cool looking plane. Named after a flatworm. It has a Tee Dee .049 on it and it's very sleek. Since it's a pylon racer it must be pretty quick. If that's a sheeted balsa wing, you could probably build it with ribs and tissue and lose some weight. If it's not fast enough for you with the TD, put a Norvel .061 on it and you'll surely have your hands full.

I've got the RCM magazine it was featured in somewhere - if it wasn't an hour past my bedtime already I'd go look for it.

Here's the magazine on ebay - two of them on the front cover...

Notice the single aileron.

It does look awfully fast. The magazine cover looks like the planes have T-tails, different version maybe?
I'm about to put a GLH on the board but after that I may have to order a set of those plans.

The article in the magazine describes how to hop up an 049. I did it and it worked well. Got about 22,500 on mine with 25%. Have the plans as well but have never built it. It's mostly plywood. Could really lighten it up with select balsa. Now the real kicker is how do you pronounce the name??????
