Have you ever had a chance to see Sean Tucker fly? Also, I think that the camera has a pretty wide angle lens, so the altitude at the end of the video may not be as high as it looks. Anyhow, I'm voting for real until I read somewhere that it's fake.

Yes! I saw him year before last for the first time at a local airshow. Most amazing pilot I have ever seen and I have seen lots. He does stuff that would KILL me. He does negative G maneuvers that are insane!. I don't like even 1 negative G how he does 4 is beyond me .

she's scared out of her mind yet keeps everything in frame?

the guy on the quad doesn't even flinch?

at least the camera person in the mirage video seemed to react naturally.

It's real...

Dramatic video of a stunt pilot buzzing a Texas runway -- narrowly missing two people -- has prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the incident, authorities confirmed Thursday.

The video, shot January 16 at Lancaster Municipal Airport south of Dallas, depicts a plane coming in close proximity to two people in an apparently staged stunt.

The pilot, identified as Jason Newburg, previously had an FAA waiver to do aerobatics at the airport, but the waiver expired in November, an FAA source -- who requested anonymity because of the ongoing investigation -- told CNN.

FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said Thursday the agency is investigating the incident.

"Even with a valid waiver, there is a requirement that people on the ground not be endangered," he said.

Well, OK. If the media says it's true I guess it is.

A few things catch my eye, Neil. First the clarity of the plane as captured by the still shot of the camera. The time it takes for the plane to make it around to the downwind position. The wind noise in the mic compaired to the speed of the smoke moving down the runway. The movement and reaction of the camera operator. The "200" MPH speed everyone seems to use in the decription of the event is only a few knots slower than the VNE of the Pitts IIRC. To do these high G manuevers that far above Va could prove deadly.
Edit: Listen to the doppler effect as the plane passes.

The FAA does not show they have started an official investigation as of this morning.

I like the video of the spitfire flying over the commentators head. I think he was scared to death. He uses a curse word just to let you know.
