Yea, he will just have to get it together and see. I think it will be fine weight wise for an AP/FPV platform. It likely wont be zippy like a sport quad, but thats not its intended purpose. There is room for larger motors and props if he needs to go that route.

The ultra wide lower part blocks half of the thrust, doesn't it?

No, not much actually. The center portion of the prop produces little of the overall thrust.

Look at how much prop is obscured by cowls on some airplanes as a good example.

You are going to have to use different motors....2050KV is way too high KV for an quad...

The point of the higher KV is to allow for smaller props. At any rate, people have used this exact motor very successfully on quads :

G10 Fiberglass Micro Quad! (5 min 44 sec)


You might not have realized that the Shuriken is very small and it is a X8.

AP? Do you mean aerial photography? If so, then no, the props won't be in the way. I have a gimble that mounts to this and is ahead of the props. Will post pictures in about a week.
