I have taken a bunch of pics with my calipers and will send you a download URL in a PM.

Thanks,

Made some more adjustments , and added LED mount plates to the ends of the arms. You could have some PCB's made just for those!! I may design that as well just in case you want to go that route. One side of the PCB could be for 1+ watt star LED's , and the other for smd so you have some option.

Let me know what you think!!

LOVE IT!!! And--I can etch PCBs here, not that I need to. The WS2801 strips I use are the latest gen and have all of the circuitry *behind* the LED so I can literally clip one out and have it sit perfectly on that platform.

Might want to add some parallel oblong holes where ever wires or cables will be routed so that it's easy to get a zip tie in there and tie them down. You have probably seen this on any model helicopter.

Nice work!

Here ya go!!!

As far as the PCB's, You can have some made very cheap, for about $1 ea. Its usually cheaper that way, and much nicer. You just have to wait a week, or so, depending on how you want them shipped.

Yes, there will be holes for zip ties. I always do that. Its usually just one of the final detail steps.

Thanks Eric!

It's pretty rad. Eric has done a great job with design and I can't wait to see what you do with the cutting.

I really think that with the weight in the middle and all of the smallish but powerful motors, that this should make for an interesting videography platform.

Hey Eric, Mike was wondering what we should call this thing. Since it has (to me) a look that reminds me of Japanese architecture or even of a Samurai's armor, I told him that "Samurai", "Shogun", and "Katana" all come to mind.

Thoughts?

I think it reminds me more of a Shuriken, a throwing star!!!

Call it whatever you want!!

Ok, the motors will fit just fine!!! I added holes for larger motors, 16mm and 19mm hole pattern. You can choose to leave these out when you machine it if you wish, but they are there just in case.

Added LED plates to lower legs. Added the necessary spacers that will lock it together, and few other details.

I think that is pretty close for the arms. I need to work on the center section now.

BTW, the top and bottom sections will be able to be used as quads all on there own!!!! Its a 3 in 1 !!
