Build Log
Steve's new tail and other mods (Warp 360)

Completely rebuilding my friend Steve's Warp 360. This build was originally started on HF, hopefully it will be allowed to continue here......

Originally, I was just asked to build one of my custom tail units for Steve's warp, but it soon became apparent that ALOT more was needed...

Let's get everyone interested up to speed.....

Yup...no "bashing"...just sharing...*grins*

It went from just making a custom tail...to remaking most of the warp...about the only thing kept will be the frames, mainshaft, bearing supports and the main rotor..and even the main rotor will get a new center hub....

It will wind up having a better CofG (the stock warp is quite tail heavy) and overall weight will decrease significantly...as an added bonus, Steve will have the option of running gear reductions from 8.4:1 up to over 18:1 with the 2 stage reduction drive.

Really nice work, heli_haven. It looks like Steve is going to have a very unique heli. I can't wait to see how it progresses.

I also bet that advanced attachment upload is a plus.

YUP! I'm really liking rcgroups!!! Just taking a little to get used to the differences....

all of this was done a week or more ago....I was about to start the latest set of updates on HF when I got banned...

Tomorrow I should be done with the primary reduction unit V2...the 1st version didnt have enough clearance for the elevator servo arm/linkage.

I'm back on...someone evidently changed their minds...lasted 12 hours? it wasnt a technical glitch, because it affected myself and Steve, and no one else. Didnt get in "trouble" for sharing any of this...got in trouble for sharing my views and critisism of the original stock heli...

Since I was first asked what I thought of the Warp back last october before it was ever even released..I have been accused of bashing and hating by the moderators...I was just simply calling 'em like I seen 'em...in a nutshell the warp is a 500 class heli with 450 sized blades with a very low gear reduction...

I think I'm gonna steal LMH's idea with the anti-spreader bar across the tops of the shafts....it's really not needed...but never can get enough overkill....
