miatamama,

Just a bit of clarification please

So the 3a ESC works well with the AP05 5000kV on 1s?

What prop/s do you use?

Can it still sustain full throttle?

Thanks,
Valiant

PS - Micron radio control sells the motors a few pounds cheaper than Microaces. It says 17 GBP, but once its in the shopping basket it drops down to 14 GBP

valiant, I use the 5x3. They seem to be the sweetspot prop. I use them on my scratchbuilt champs to the beast and anything I build. I do have some 6x3's coming and will try them. I will post a pic of the 3amp I use. Have only had 2 friday indoors to try the new motors. Have run 15 batts thru them and have not had any cutouts on either motor. I am using the cheapest 300 nano batts so had to change the connectors.

Cool, I just ordered 1 more of those 3a ESCs (so I have 2 in total), 2 more AP05s (so I have 3 in total), and 2 300mah nanotechs

Im gonna run 2x Ap05s with the 2 3a escs and both 300mah lipos in my scratch built/designed P-38.

and

The other Ap05 and xp-7a will go on my 3D micro mustang.

You can't, but better to post it here as was suggested.

How do I get the mount off the motor to get to the soldered wires? I removed the C lock washer, but then what? Everything still seems pretty well locked together. Sorry if I'm not using the correct terms.

Gene, I think you would have to soak it in acetone and that might take the enamel off the wires. I did everything from the back with the mount on using a magnified visor while pulling the wires thru the mount Hard to do but if I can do it anyone can.

Irv Ignore them. You only have to work with 1-6. 7-8 and 9 just pass thru there arent any lead ends on them.

Gotch, I was cofused because when I wind a motor I wrap
1-4-7 2-5-8 3-6-9 with 7, 8 and 9 being the termination. Same thing but different.

Worked like a charm - at least on the bench: AP05 motor, HK 030 ESC, R415 receiver, Hyperion 1S240mah battery, and DX6i transmitter.

Thanks again for the help!

Might work but you'd do some foam carving as that's an outrunner and would need clearance to spin.

That GPS C03 motor/gearbox was discussed and dismissed a couple of years ago in this interesting thread that started out exploring what could be done with a 10mm motor/gearbox. Conclusion (if I recall correctly) was that for the cost one could get a bettermotor/gearbox combination that had a much harder prop shaft.

Idk

still see couple possible uses for this combo 1S & DD 2s

1) 3blade 5045s dual pusher diff thrust wright flyer lite esc on 1s would be sick

2) smallish size dd props like estes cw/ccw gh wright flyer props - finally a motor that can push cw/ccw, 8.5mm DD gets hot. some 1s smaller on 2s

maybe not ULTIMATE but liter esc than brushed, liter than stock, single cell all doable if lite and used correctly bl is mucher cooler, last longer

valGLX,

I've been selling Nine Eagles SP & SX 8.4mm brushed motors for a year or two now.
I always ask for feedback on motor performance.

I receive many PMs and get virtually no neg feedback.
Pretty incredible!
