TWA, America West, American Eagle, Champion Air, Air Wisconsin (MX Controller), several stints as a contractor here and there, Certified Aviation Services (LAS), Swissport (LAS), Jet Aircraft Maintenance (Ft Myers), and now a "jet engine mechanic" DoD/USAF civilian..... boring work, but M-F days, and all holidays off.....

Im working on making this a kit, but it has to be fairly understandable when assembling it. So I have to put all the skins together and design an internal structure. Right now Im working on the internal structure for the vertical. I dont want a flat board tail. So Im coming up with a way to have flat board structure with airfoil skins. So then the skins have rigidity and the flat board internal structure is the back bone of the plane, without sacrificing weight. With this plane weight is everything.

The skins will come completely printed in an airline scheme that is not presently in business. The kit will be called whisperjet, being that this is an Eastern Airlines name there shouldnt be a problem with boeing. Im going to do the first scheme in Delta Airlines because I have already designed the scheme into the CAD and Im working with Delta to use the scheme. There will be no painting required, the skins will be silver all the placards are on it. Every little detail is there. But it will take a little while to design.

I saw that article as well, a Balsa anything is a VERY hard & long build, Paul's 727 should be a very easy straight forward RC kit to put together.

Carbon Fiber+727-200

Paul if I was doing your Hybrid 727 Card model here is where I would place the CF Rods

Carbon-Fiber turns a flimsy RC card model into a strong survivable RC Plane.

The one thing that is most important on this kit, is the ease of transporting. I have to break the wings down into 3 sections. The center wing will be fixed and the outer wings will be removable with carbon tubing and earth magnets. DD, I was going to go with the layout you showed on the center wing with simple carbon tubing interconecting the outer wings. The fuselage as well, Im thinking of three sections with carbon pins and earth magnets.

I would only break the fuse towards the nose Sir, anymore then you compromise your 727's structural integrity.
