I can't recall the modifier, but I sold one from an estate that had a single carb,on a manifold. It used two "snuffler" mufflers, off early Briggs -style lawn mower engines.
The engine had been in an 80" Grumman 'Wildcat' fighter.. They were popular in the mid eighties, when more power was being sought after. Some of those crankcases came off a unique backpack sprayer for pest control.....one cylinder was for power, the other only generated air pressure for the sprayer. Modifiers wised up and added the second "firing' cylinder. |

If you don't want it, place an ad in the classifieds.
It was a so-so engine, at about 2.4 cubic inches. I sold the one I had for $150 ,used. It ran pretty well.....an observation the previous owner disagreed with. He wasn't trusting his high-effort model to that, when OS came out with the GBX. I'm guessing yours is a 2.4- don't quote me. As has been stated, they hung different cylinders on them in their infancy. I'd ask $200 shipped and if a guy wants to dicker, let him. It's not JUNK, just not state of the art. |
