How are you measuring the cogging and when? If by hand feel it will feel different for each of these situations:

1 - motor not connected to anything

2 - motor connected to ESC without a battery connected

3 - motor connected to ESC with a battery connected

The lightest and most evenly spaced cogging, as far as what you feel by hand, is when the motor is off of the ESC and the three ESC connectors are in contact with each other (shorted together).

If you want to study cogging more, some real motor experts discuss it in this thread:

Also, just for curiosity can you tell me what the purpose of rewinding is? Thanks in advance for your reply

The controller will probably be available inside 2 weeks.

We will get custom motors made, but as of now I only know the ETA on the production prototypes, which is inside the same 2 weeks.

The purpose of rewinding is in very basic terms to lower the KV and raise the torque and precision of the motor, while still keeping things sane in terms of current used.

I have no ETA on the Gimbal mechanics, but since we get it made locally, it probably wont take long once the designs are submitted for production. Production prototypes are already in the works.

I hope we will be able to offer a complete GoPro solution for HeroHD, 2 and 3 by the end of February. We are designing on a solution for mirrorless cams now, but there is no deadline on that...

Patience is a virtue (i simply don't have)

I - want - everything - now!

I'm watching the rewinding guys fighting the wire snakes like Laokoon with great amazement but I know for sure: this ain't my kind of business!

So all I can do is standing by and counting the days...

I know that this is not a FPV forum but you need to take a break and have some entertainment occasionally. This is from a gentleman in Norway who is an insanely good hand at FPV flying. No gimbals here but that adds to the thrills!

Maybe later he will add a gimbal...

looking at the video even if wing or not doesn't matter. I think one of the nice things of FPVing is to have this flying feeling which comes from the roll not being leveled but going along with the copters movement. Would it be possible to create a mode for the the alexmos setup to correct short therm wobbles/disturnabces on the roll axis but other wise not to level but to stick to the movement of the coptrer or wing ?

i agree that would be really useful...to flip an aux switch and have the gimbal go from providing really smooth great level video which it is already capable...

..to correcting small vibes and shakes but for the most part keeping the same roll attitude as the copter or flying wing. with pitch being locked in place.

maybe could interface with multiwii, ardupilot or openpilot?

The 3506 seems to have bigger and more powerful magnets. I guess I can work on demagnetizing them a bit. or simply increase the air gap.
