I have the RC Eye One, MJX x100 & x200, and v929.

Of these the Eye One best meets your criteria. Parts are now becoming readily available as are battery adapters. It is larger investment but is quite different from all the others. You have to fly it to fully understand. The powerful props on this beast can cause some damage to things and people though so I am not totally sure it is a best first quad. But if you can handle you sr120 comfortably it should be no problem.

Each of the quads mentioned here by others have their own unique characteristics. Someone might recommend a quad with ultra stable hover while others might say it responds too slowly. Someone might suggest a quad that accelerates quickly and banks tightly but needs continuous stick work to hover, while others would say it is too hard to fly.

The bottom line is that these quads are all inexpensive and all are fun for what they are. Use the advice of others as one piece of information and step out and try one. From there your wants be more clear for your next one, and next one, and . . . .

regards . . . g

I know and agree the problem is an entire bag or even a handful gets hard on the heli budget.
