Question
2 inline engined plane ?

Was there such a small American flying boat ? After WW II.

I am probably confused. It had 1 tractor engine and 1 pusher . No web search shows such a plane.

You could start on the Short Sealand, but that was British. The Republic Twin Bee had two pushers - inline I think.

Dornier had a long history of this kind of setup. After WWII they came out with modernized versions. The US Navy never had anything like this in their modern seaplane flying boats.

I tried a few searches as well, no luck.

The nearest would be something like a Dornier Seastar for an inline push-pull configuration as the props would still need to be well above the water.

Could not find any American manufacturer of anything similar. I doubt that any home built aircraft would have gone for anything so complicated.

Years ago, I got some time in a twin Seabee. As I recall, the twin engines were not inline, but rather left and right, on the top of the wing. Nice flying airplane, though.

I had a senior moment.

I can recall ( MADE UP ), it having them inline for the torque free flying if 1 engine failed.

Only thing that has failed ? Is my mind.

We now return you to normal flying.

Thanks to all.
