Question
What resolution does the lawmate 500mw 2.4G support?

I'm thinking about buying some new fatshark video goggles and understand that sometime soon they're going to release 'hd' versions which support 800x600 resolution.

I'm using PZ0420 camera which I believe is 600TVL and thus offers near 800x600 picture.

Will the lawmate support 800x600 video transmission? Because if it doesn't I may as well buy a fatshark SD goggle set now if the weakest link would still remain the transmitter.

It supports PAL, which technically is up to 768x576 but in practice it's a lot less. 640x480 is probably already on the optimistic side.
The cam is advertised as 600TVL but because of the way it works (interlacing) its closer to 450 in reality.

The HD fatsharks sound like they'll be good for several other reasons (built in recorder, better optics) but I wouldn't get too hung up on resolution. You wont see much difference at all between 640x480 and 800x600 to be honest.

Thanks for your help Mich

That's interesting, didn't realise that the cam was giving interlaced video. So if we say for the time being vga is about as good as it gets what would you recommend goggles wise?

The dominators have dropped in price quite a bit, down to 220, Attitude SD being 280. With the dominators having glass optics and the same resolution they seem like quite a good deal, what do you reckon? Or should I wait for the HD's as I wont need them for 3 months anyway till it warms up a bit out there!

If you can wait... and if you can afford the HD's when they do come out (likely >500$) then that sounds like your best option.
In any case I'd highly recommend trying the goggles out before committing. I only own the older RCV922's. Doms have the smallest image, depends if that bothers you or not!

I think I'll go for the dominators now, $500 is a bit too rich for me

Cheers for the info
