You know, that is an impressive little project.

I believe that I owe you an apology. I really thought you were trolling at first. Seems you're actually doing some real experimentation and building. Suggestion: Put rear wheels on it. It'll be a lot more stable.

Then, go and put that gear in something that flies.

I see that. That kind of experimentation is what makes a hobby fun.

Just one bit of advice: 2.4GHz radio equipment is pretty much usable on either land or air models, but be careful if you ever come across 72MHz or 75MHz equipment. 72MHz is only for aircraft and 75MHz is only for surface models. If you get a hold of a 27MHz radio, that's usable on either air or land. So's 49MHz, but that's mostly used for toys.

Unless you have an amateur radio license, you cannot use 50MHz equipment under any circumstances. So, stick to the good 2.4GHz stuff and you'll be OK.

Send me a PM if you have any questions.

Good man. How goes it with the 1SQ? I bought one at the AMA expo here in California a few weeks ago and I have had nothing but fun with it. It'll fly outdoors almost as well as a big helicopter, even in a light breeze.

I blogged about it in case you're interested.
