I received your spec sheet,am very appreciative but a bit confused on the measurements shown. Are they in degrees because the rudder spec shows 100.thats where i am confused(not hard to do).I may have posted a picture of the plane awhile back.Found it in a garage in SoCal.Its set up for fixed gear and looks pretty good structually.Thinking of just cleaning it up and seeing how it works out before doing anything extensive to it(if it survives). Thanks very much for your help,,,,Freddy

Freddy,
Glad to be of help. Sorry for the confusion, I just kind of threw the sheet together, it needs some clean-up. The throws (Aileron/Elevator) are in degrees. I put the rudder info in the wrong column. Just set the rudder for all you can get on high rate and use the for stall turns, etc. Set the low rate to 60-70% initially, then tweak it so 90% stick movement will sustain a knife edge. This will give you a selection to keep your point rolls, knife edge, and rudder corrections smooth.

I use Futaba equipment, so the expo will be "+" if your fly JR/Spektrum. Just make sure it works the right way to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Overall, be prepared for the best flying airplane that you will ever have the privilege of piloting!

If you are interested, shoot me a PM with your E-Mail, and I will send you a PDF of the original plans.

Check the wing incidence!!!

Before you fly, grab a Robart incidence meter or equivalent and check the wing/stab incidence! There is a big error in the wing saddle, and if the stab is aligned to the correct incidence (there were alignment marks molded into the fuse), you will have about 2 degrees negative incidence (wing). Not cool, requires about 3/8" up elevator to hold level flight! I found that out the hard way on my first Vertigo. If necessary, shim down the trailing edge of the wing. Better to find out on the bench than in the air.
