Cellpro 10s - A123 3.60/3.65v Preset too high for 6.6V LiFePo4 Battery??

I have one of the original Cellpro 10s Chargers. Should I be able to charge a ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh 6.6V 5C LiFePo4 Receiver Pack without any problem?

Do I just set the Chemistry to: A123 3.60V or is it 3.65V - both sound a little high to me.

Thanks,

Use the A123 preset. I'd have to check but I believe the default voltage is 3.65v per cell. I believe you will need to use the plug blocker and charge through the balance lead.

Sure that is no problem, I can charge through the balance lead.

Was just worried about using the A123 preset since it's rated at either 3.60v or 3.65v.

I thought the 2S 6.6v LiFePo4 battery in question would want to have a charge preset of 3.30v instead.

But if the Cellpro 10s charger's preset of 3.60v or 3.65v isn't too high...then no problem.

Thanks,

Not a problem. Battery ratings are usually nominal voltage. For example, LiPos are rated at 3.7v. But we charge them to 4.2v.

I've struggled with the same issue today. Using a 6.6V Turnigy Rx pack the Cellpro detects low voltage and stops the charging process. I'm using the A123 3.65V chemistry to charge with.

Funny because charging the 9.9V Tx pack works fine.

It works so something is up. Connections or settings could be wrong, or one cell could actually be low while the other is high. What is the exact error message? How is the pack connected to the charger? Are you using the plug blocker? Is this a Cellpro10s or Cellpro 10XP? If its the 10XP what wiring mode are you using?

Sorry, after some investigation, I realised I had the balance leads screwed up. I bought a Turnigy 2S pack and it had a three pin balance connector. I salvaged a 5 pin connector from an old lipo pack and got it working. The pack is charging fine now.

I guess the 3.65V displayed on the Cellpro had me confused.
