whats your Flight control board.? this will dictate your setup.

you can see the hobbyshops and supplies section to begin with .then select the type of flight controller you would be using. . from there its all on the manual of the control board used.

then its the size weight and purpose of your quadcopter that will dictate what power systems you would use.

your frame have to be sturdy and stiff . you dont want flexing on your frame that would make your craft unstable.

There are different kinds of boards? What type has an auto leveling feature?

The payload i'm planning is just FPV gear and two 2200mah batteries in parallel.

It has to have legs so i can land in grass and places with garbage scattered about.

Ano magandang starting point? Matagal pa 'ko magiipon so me time pa maghanap, pero kelangan ko ng advice kung ano magandang basic kit.

Can't find the ones you mentioned so i'll put this in the list for now.

Kulang na lang yung frame. Considering na matindi mag tax ang customs pag nakakita sila ng malaking package, malamang local na lang ako kukuhan ng frame.

2 bladed 10x4.5 -11x4.5 inch will do.

I find customs a bit too much for larger package. its the reason large kits are expensive here over the small ones. heard lots of stories on customs .especially if you ship using big major courier

better contact the hobby shops locally to see if they have a frame that suit your size requirements.

Props are CCW and CW a pair each

I have a first quad build question.

I hooked up 4 ESCs (AfroESC 30As) to the KK2.1 board, no motors. Hooked up a 3S. I fiddled with the board settings a bit (set motor config, calibrated acc etc) then I noticed that the ESCs were warm.

Is it normal for the ESCs to warm up like that?

not normal when there is no load or your not running anything. I still suspect its the frequency of the esc not matching with the flightcontroller. in fact in getting the same problem as you now. any further will have to replace the esc

Isn't there a calibration procedure to sync up the ESCs to the board or is it totally unrelated? I haven't tried it. Still waiting for servo leads for the Rx.

does it have a bec onboard? Or throttle brake function? if so im suspecting those features are consuming power even w/o load

Yes, they do have BECs that can give .5A. I cut the power wires of 3 of the ESCs and only have one of them having all 3 wires connected. Not too sure about the break function, though. These were pre flashed with SimonK firmware and from what I understand were configured for mulitrotors having the low power cut off and break disabled.

It does have a motor stop feature where it's supposed to stop the motor if the props are physically stopped (like by a tree or an idiot). Could not having any motors attached be affecting it since it can't detect the motor state? I'm totaling guessing and grasping at straw.

the brake function stops the prop from feathering when the throttle is cut. useful for gliders or fixwings but not for multirotors. but not all esc has feature of over amp protection like when the prop gets stuck it shouts down completely for safety.

still if the esc comes with instructions i wouldnt mine trying other settings to see if it solves the issue. also make sure your wires are properly connected and proper guage.
