The CNC Journey
Part 2 - Connecting PC to Machine
My first problem was the PC I was planning on using did not have a parallel port. Trip to FRY's and 35 dollars latter I had one. There are only two path I know of for connecting PC to Machine. Mach3 and Linux EMC. I plan to do both as Mach3 trail version will only run 500 lines of Gcode and EMC is free but require a learning curve on linux. Mach 3 setup Motor turning = 200 steps * 2(half steps) = 400 steps for a full motor rotation. 400 / 5.08 (pitch of ballscrew was .200 in) = 78.74 |
