Back from 3 days of hobby show. A few hicups to the show with the use of 2 buildings and only a few vendors this year. Models on contest display were down as well. Also not very many deals for the boaters this year either. The up sides was the boat pond and the NW R/C Shipmodelers had one of the best displays ever at the show and had a lot of possitive feedback. The clubs repersented by the boat community included: 2 scale, 1 sailboat, 1 fast electric racing, and 1 ic racin. Overall, I thought the boats clubs were better repersented than the flying clubs or car groups. Some of the live demos included: non stop fun on the boat pond, small electric flying, armored tank battels, battle botts arena fighting ( sat. only ), rock crawlers zone, flat track slider racing ( sunday only), and a race track for charity ( watched a lot of families enjoy this one!) and I am sure a few other things I missed. As always, one of my favorite aspects of the event is seeing all the freinds and aquaintences I have made over the last 25 plus years of doing the hobbies. Is one of the only events where we gat a chance to chatt since usally at a 1 day event too busy doing the fun stuff. Thanks to all those that came out to enjoy this years event.

There were WAAYYY too many airplanes, and not nearly enough boats!

Umi was spotted showing some younger potential new hobbyists all about the boats in the pond, and Kieth was dutifully manning his booth.

The two buildings thing was a real drag. It separated the action in really poor ways.

That is a working half model. Creates a great illusion on the water and many a second look when it turns to from full side model to half. It was made by Phil Northrup of Wenatche to prove it can be done and shot folks how a model works.
Thanks Tim as there is a bit of every thing for everyone. Been better if it was all under 1 roof as the general 'electricity/excitement" can be felt when all to gether and a lot of people in an area.
The boat pond always had a crowd around it when I would take a break to stretch the legs.
Always way too many aero prodjects and gear--but then again they are the largest segment of the r/c hobbies around here ( although you wouldn't have known that from all the boats on display!!!!!). Every few years the boat modelers get to have a heyday with boat stuff in the swap meet.......

In the mean time our season opening BBQ will be on May 5th, all welcome.
This years theme is a swap meet as well as the usual Free running and Freighter tug teams.
