How strong are these? The shape looks a little brittle but how well does the carbon fiber make up for that? Do they take a prop strike well or shatter?

Carbon Fiber, pound for pound is as strong as some steel. Anything as thin as a prop spinning at 11,000 RPM is going to have some impact. A glancing blow to small branch or tall grass, will likely cause the branch to bend (these props wont bend). Hit a solid object - metal pole, tree trunk etc.. and every type of props will break carbon fiber and nylon.

I guess to answer your question, hit something solid, they will break, hit something soft and flexible they will cause that item to give way.

Nylon props will bend, but do not have the strength to carry heavy loads or deliver in high performance situations. Carbon fiber is for experienced pilots flying heaver loads that require better response and for AA Pilots- (Advanced Acrobatics :-) )

The item page on your website is a little confusing. The title says 2cw and 2ccw, but the picture only shows 2 props, and the description doesn't confirm how many props are included at that price.

The main reason why I'm asking is because these appear to be Gemfan full carbon props, but your prices are half or 1/3 the other online prices for a full set of 4 props. So that concerns me.

Sickwitit,

Yes, the price is for 4 props, 2 cw and 2 ccw, and yes, they are the full Carbon Fiber props. The pictures on my website are taken from Gemfans Web Site.

My website clearly states - 2 cw and 2 ccw !

I have very low overhead, I order these props directly from Gemfan, pay Fedex shipping and import taxes.

This is a hobby business, I have a full time job. My interest is to help fellow hobbiest, and be able to pay for my hobby costs..... Pretty cool for me.....

I have sold a LOT of props and so far, my customers are all happy.

If I can make a few dollars, help others save money I am happy. Would it make you happy if I doubled the price? (I'm here to assist, learn and make some friends).

Take a look at my reviews.... I ship next day via USPS First Class (3 days to U.S. customers) and stand behind my products).

Here is Gemfan's website: http://www.gemfanhobby.com/proListE....age=1&Class=24

Any questions.... Fire away !

oops... sorry!

Internal diameter is 5mm - included with props - adapters reduce it to: 3mm, 3.5mm, and 4mm

Sorry for the slow response.

Dan, can I buy 6 props or do I need to buy 8. -- Also is the hub size on the 12" also 5mm? -- the hubs on Avroto are 6mm. Is there enough material to safely drill them larger? -- thanks, JOHN

if they follow the same pattern as the other gemfan props it should be 6mm on the 12 inch ones

what do you this is the best prop for this motor?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ner_900kv.html

I have a quad with total weight of 2156 with battery.

How much balancing do they need and how do you balance these?

DigitalCam,
I can sell you 6, but I dont like to break up sets if I dont have to. It's a good idea to have a cople of spares anyway dont you think?

Just checked, right now I only have 1 set (4 props) - my next delivery is due by weeks end. Let me know if you want the 6 or 8.
