Also today I used packaging tape on the tops of the elevarons. I dont intend on buying any hinges. Just packaging tape and the styrofoam that is already there. Now all I have to do is make one cut between the elevaron and the fusalge and the elevaron will move freely. Plan on connecting the servos next weekend.

Also glued the black foam stips between the wing tips and the elevarons, some touch up green paint on the bottom of the wing tips.

STAY TUNED!!

The reciever with the servos attached and the ESC.

I have mine set up so that channel 1 is attached to elevon 1
channel 2 is elevon 2
channel 3 goes to esc which is throttle

notice the orange wire from the servo corresponds to the (s) signal input on the reciever.

the red wire from the servo is the positive

the brown wire from the servo is the negative

When you attach the servo wire extensinions to the reciever, just make sure they connect the wires to the controller as mentioned above.

The push rods were to big to fit through the servo arms.

Had to drill out the predrilled holes on the servo arms. Used a 1/16" bit. Worked perfectly. In this picture they are not drilled out yet. I drilled out the top two holes on the arm.

Here it is. glued up waiting for it to dry before I play around with the elevons some more.

Had to cut away a little styrofoam to instll the servos.

used gorilla glue to glue servos in place as well as the elevon horns.

also after installing the servos and the horns, I cut the airlerons free.

Had to cut a little between the elevons and the wing in order for the elevon to move more freely. Not using "Hinges" on the elevons as of yet. Just using packaging tape and segments of styrofoam to hinge the elevons to the wings.

This is the cut you need to make to free the elevon. I did this after the servos were insatlled with the pushrods connected to the elevon horns. Also took away a little styrofoam on the elevon between the elevon and the wingtip just to give it a little more room.

Made seveal slits along the elevon in order to gain more freedom of movement. Leaving all of the styrofoam attached between the elevon and the wing caused to much resistence for the servos. I would say there is a total of about 3.5 to 4 inches on elevon still attached to the wing with styrofoam and packing tape. This seems to be just about right. Remember I am not using any after market hinges on this airplane as of yet. just the styrofoam and packing tape.

These seem to be the right end points for my build. The only problem is I need to figure out how to save the settings. For some reason everytime I exit the screen, and then come back to that screen, the settings change to the default setting. Did this over a beer and no manual. In the morning Ill grab the manual and see what I am doing wrong. GOOD night!

Prop attached to motor using the accessory package. I think I have it set up right for a pusher configuration. Any comments out there?

Bench test it tomorrow.

Fastfwd,

Thanks for the picture.

I have it mounted so that when the prop spins it pulls the air from the front of the airplane and moves it aft. Now just make sure the ESC is hooked up the right way to spin the prop.

Bench test tomorrow, then mount on the airplane.

Has anyone put fixed gear on one of these delta wings? I am considering it.

Try to takeoff with gear instead of hand launch. I value my fingers.

If gear dont work, then I am going to build a catapult.
