It sounds like the teacher is a hero.
It reads like the teacher was well respected by the children before, I hope the parents do as well.
Pandoras box is well open, with the amount of weapons that the USA appears to have in private hands, unregistered, uncontrolled in too many, not all cases, tschools will have to have armed guards and possibly teachers as well.
But unless they are closely checked out, both for ability with weapons and attitude, we could see even more school incidents.
The USAs reputation as a safe country is falling through the floor internationally, we turn on the news and there is another shooting and you appear to be doing nothing about it.

Says the school normally has a armed guard but he was not present on account of snow. I wonder if the shooter knew this.

Snow, sleet, or shine.....good motto. Best to live by it than just parrot it.
I pay for armed guards for the political leaders and their children, so more than willing to pay for a guard at the schools. No guard, no school that day.
Can't figure out why folks shy away from playin hardball.

If some of the teachers were armed, and no one knew which one, that might be a good deterrent ; shooters go for schools thinking they're soft targets.

Bad people do bad things. My prayers go out to the victims and their families.

Apparently the shooter was bullied by the victim.

He handled it poorly and has ruined his own future as well.

I heard that too. The whole "bullyproofing" sham that goes on in the public school system needs to be wiped out and they need to start over. They have an abysmal record.

How was the shooter able to get his hands on a shotgun and ammunition?
Who ever allowed that to happen should have their rights to own any gun removed as of now.

The video in the link in the op suggested he stole it from his brother. It did not seem to say if that brother resided in the same house or elsewhere.

If the gun owner was in the same house, and the shooter had a documented mental illness or violent history, I may agree with your removal of gun rights statement.

However, in general I believe that if a firearm is there for personal protection there should not be an issue having it out, unlocked, and loaded. If a bad guy breaks in, having to unlock a safe or trigger lock and/or load a weapon could be the time difference between survival and bad things. Heck just getting to its standard location could be problematic since I doubt many actually carry one around the house with them.

I'd start with removing the "Gun Free Zone" stickers.

Yet another shooting?

Of course the guntoters are going to say it wasn't the gun. Point your finger, flip your thumb and say "bang bang bang yer dead!" will do it every time.

Something is broken and needs to be fixed.

The guns aren't broken, so the people must be. Fix them.
