Slash 4x4 Ultimate LIPO's?

I just purchased a Slash 4x4 brushless ultimate and need to know what LIPOs will fit in the stock setup with the holder? Is it better to go with a hardcase? Please let me know what your running on your venilion setup.

Thanks in advance.....

Definitely better to get a hardcase pack, they're a pretty standard size so you don't have to worry about them fitting.

I would get 2s5000mah packs, 30-40c at minimum. I've had good luck with gensace packs from hobbypartz, but there's lots of other options out there too!

Thanks for the reply...I was thinking more of a 3S5000mah pack instead. I just bought this from a racer that has already geared it up for LIPO.

2s lipo is plenty and if you plan on any organized racing most places if not all limit your cell count to 2s.
I run 2s 5000 hard case packs in my slash and it's plenty fast on a Ballistic 550 5000kv running a 13 tooth pinion on the stock spur gear
3s is harder on the drive train as well

3s in a slash 4x4 is going to be very hard on the motor and drivetrain, and as mentioned above you're limited to 2s for racing.

Thanks guys for your insight on things. I will explore 2S5000 hard cases then for the truck!

I uses nano tecs and plain old blue turnigys. not the hard packs. no problems and we jump a good bit. i have used some tenergy hard case batteries but they split open even with a heavy shrink on them. we race 8 minutes IIRC and only charge at 1 c.
