Im just trying to be silly.

But for real. Its windy as hell here. I want to get a sailplane but know nada about them.
Reading that weight is your friend. For some reason im turned off by the radian models. Just cause i read they flex and fly sorta boring.

You will likely have to get some sort of composite, and move away from foam....with Lo-mein of course.

Powered gliders make good slopers. The motor rides along, and isn't needed unless the plane gets too far down the slope and can't be flown back up. The motor provides a self-contained thermal.
Sloping is the best way to learn to fly r/c. You have to become at ease with the plane at all attitudes and orientations.. going away and coming toward you, and, you have to pay attention to where it is relative to the lift and the slope.

I like the idea of an E-powered glider.
Feel free to toss out names of models you guys like.

My only experience so far is with foamies. I like foam a lot. But i read they dont perform as well. Not opposed to strengthening with CF and building or modifying. Really enjoy that aspect of RC planes.

I like the price of foam!!!!

Definitely not looking for super high grade.

Ballpark im thinking in the under $300 range.

Will be landing on a dirt field so the plane will get slightly beat up.

Depends on the foamie... the ANABATs were designed for contact combat sloping! Great fun...

Doing google searches for Anabat sales. All im finding is old RC groups posts. Most are really old and not the greatest of reviews. Have they come out with newer models?

I've sloped an electric Seniorita Kadet. Many 2 meter gliders. The SIG Ninja is a good aerobatic flier.
The Paragon... 114" TD airplane...
