First impressions:
Very high quality, great paint job w/lettering/labels.
Also, very well packed and double boxed. No damage
No instructions but this is my 8th build so I think I can muddle thru.

I'm starting with the right wing glueing up the aileron. It comes with the slots already cut in and the CA hinges in place but not glued

Small wood blocks glued to servo hatch to hold the aileron servo in place. I also used amount of hot glue to attach the servo to the hatch and then used two screws to secure the servo to the wood blocks. The small wood blocks come with the kit

Then I fished some control rod thru the wing and pulled the servo wire back thru the wing and then seated the servo which is now attached to the servo hatch. Note that I needed to cut away (pic #1) some of the balsa on the wing for the wood blocks supporting the servo to clear.

I then attached the horns and clevis' on the aileron. These were pretty high quality, normally I trash the stock hardware that come with these models but the stock hardware seems high quality.

Repeated the same process on the left wing:

The C-160 brings back some memories.

I scratch built an electric powered Transall, (brushed motors, belt drives, and Nicad batteries), way back in 1991, (first flight was July '91)

She had opening rear doors and could drop a parachute load, two troopers or a pallet.

Also at the time I ran quite a small car, so she also had to fit her 80" span wings and big fat fuselage in there somehow. She became my first model that could be disassembled in a big way.

Sold it a few years later, fool.

Read many comments about the high wing loading so I'll be putting together an alternative wing (from Twinstar II) for slower, more forgiving landings.

Started work on the motors. This part is pretty easy. Used 2 x Turnigy G10 810 kv
375 watts:

Using 2 x Turnigy Trust 40amp ESCs. I removed the power wires and soldered the longer power wires directly to the power terminals and then covered with electrical tape.

Motor installed in the mount and temporarily installed the 2 piece nacelle. Motor test using a Master Airscrew 9x5 3-blade tractor:
