what can I do with this?

I've got an old FP heli that I can't get parts for anymore. Don't plan on any more fp stuff, and hate to let a good motor and esc just lay around and go to waste, so I'm thinking maybe a basic little foamie?
It's a 6000kv outrunner, I have no idea what size prop or what kind of wingspan to consider - any suggestions?

You'd need a gearbox for that 6000kv motor and that will probably cost as much as a lower Kv outrunner.

You could sell it in the Classfields, then use that money to buy parts for a foamie.

I was afraid of the rpm issue, but I'll openly admit brushless is still new technology to me. My second plank was a goldberg mirage with a brushed motor and nicad batteries - we didn't even have ni-mh yet.
We can still use the esc, receiver and servos so I'll look through here and find something then buy a motor that fits it.

Airplane is still one of my 5 favorite movies - my brother and I actually had the "I can make a brooch" conversation monday while we were looking at that heli.

Depending on how big the motor is, one of the slippery deltas (like gpw skyray or blue albecorde simple design, pushers) might be interesting with that high rpm motor and a small prop. Lots of speed if not so much torque. The venerable Johnson 250 brushed was a 5000kv, I think and even flew my trainer1 with a gws 3030 prop.
