Congratulations Sean! and to all who entered. It was a very nice scale showing, an evolving event, destined to become bigger and better. Mike did an excellent job IMHO, he had some big shoes to fill. Thanks for stepping up and taking this by the horns Mike. I was glad to look over and see the stands three quarters full for the contest.

Thanks Jim,

Your right. The goal was to AT LEAST.. not allow the event to go backwards.

Im glad to report we had 9 planes entered by 8 pilots! This WILL grow next year!

I feel one of my responsibility was to make sure i listened to our pilots and others to make any possible improvements to the event in the future.

Anyway..

Thanks again Jim (barn boss.. and a dam good one, Les the PC key tapper, and my little red head for helping me register the pilots)

Also to:
Hobbico
Our other great e-fest sponsers
Flying Models Magazine
Academy Of Aeronautics

and again the pilots.

Hey all,

I want to thank Mike first of all for all his hard work in setting this up. You made it run smooth and was very fun. I am already thinking about what to build for next year!

I also want to thank the judges, Dennis, Terry and Jim.

Also I want to thank Flying Models Magazine, the AMA and Hobbico for putting the event on and anyone else that helped with the scale event.

I had a great time and would not miss it.

Great job to all the pilots as well.

Sean, congrats on your plane and flight. You really make it a challenge to make something to compete with your amazing scale detail.

See you all next year!!!!

Orrin,

Thanks buddy. She is a trooper. Also.. your right, the judges worked very hard on this event for us. (Thank you fellas). They had commented on how nice the lineup of planes were at this event and all of them said.. "Count me in" for next year.

One suggestion for all of those reading. You best get building! Lol

See ya all next year.

Without a doubt, the pinnacle event of this year's E Fest. Thank you to one and all for the effort put into running this.

Now, how to maintain enthusiasm to follow Grimracer's suggestion above...

Jim did an amazing job on that little bipe! He was having some CG issues with it. He just didn’t have the opportunity to get in some shake down trim flights. I was trying to help him with one flight, she wasn’t a happy bird at all! But Jim fought for control and landed it unharmed. For those of you who didn’t get a close look at her? It was an amazing build and covering job. I hope we get to see it in the air some time soon?

Thanks Jim, and thanks Grim and Matt. Check out the link that Matt has in his post, Stevens Aero makes a great line of models. The Bowers Flybaby Bipe is part of the Stevens Aero Micro Builders Program. At $125.00 a year for four micro models plus other club benefits, it is a bargain! She is a little tail heavy right now but I still need to build up a dummy engine for it.

can you please clarify the airframe rules for kits and arfs? I did not fully understand what was allowed to compete and what will be allowed next year.

just as an example - if I were to pick a subject such as a GWS Pico Togermoth and spend the time modifying and detailing it for scale would that be allowed to compete?

also, I would be more interested in the flying portion but only a certain number of planes can make it into that?
