Well having built several Chris gold Lancasters in the past

I was asked to build a Halifax while i was visiting Breighton in Yorkshire to fly my 90" Lanc
A bit of research and 78 sqn flew from Breighton with the Halifax when 460 moved to Binbrook with the Lancaster's
A search of the inter web and i found a plan (all built up !) n scaled it to the size i wanted and changed it to suite my prefered method of construction Foam & balsa veneered.
the starting point is the Biggest bit The 3 section wing Here we go Enjoy

She has to fly at the first Breighton show on the 10th of March about 10 weeks time

We start of with the foam blanks to make the cutting templates i spot glue 2 pieces of balsa together and band saw around them sand them smooth and stick aluminium tape to the edge this gives a smooth heat resistant surface for the hot wire here's a few photo's of the centre wing section

once the blanks are cut and before sectioning i cut the diheadral angle to the root so when the panels are cut to section they will match the centre section

beautifull work on those wing cores and a great plane to model im thinking myself of doing a wimpy wellington say six foot span electric.

Funnily enough that is the next aircraft i'm doing i have the plans cowls and canopies as my lanc is done in 460 sqn codes and they flew wellingtons from breighton before the convertion to lancs and the plans i have are 72"

the wings are now balsa covered and the holes for the cables cut through the coarse ailerons cut from the panels and balsa added to them and the aileron servo holes cut for the mount plates just teh nacelles to make and fit to the wings and they'll be ready for covering

The 4 nacelles are balsa and ply they will get foam veneered decks to complete them

Had a bit of rest from the wing for an hour and made the 2 tail fins i first cross laminate 3 layers of 3/32 balsa light and strong and we end up with

Once i get started i like to get on with it The Lanc took me 5 weeks of evenings to complete then 2 months waiting for the weather to fly it !!!
Any hoo i've cut some of the fuzelage parts today
