175 kits....have you seen Chip's 'What's in your closet thread"? You may be a contender

Best of luck getting up and running/flying again,

Probably not, My Contenders are CR ;-)

Couldn't resist. Hope this isn't considered Turbo positng. It is something I Excel at though. I'd hate to be branded a Renegade after so short a time back.

Okay, I spent a couple of hours with the search function in the classifieds. Would you agree that the market for kits is really bad right now? I was really surprised by how low prices are right now and how many items are going un-sold.

On the good side, I have managed to sort the sell from the keep and photograph about 80 of the kits. It is easier than photographing models though! With kits, 2 or 3 picutres will usually suffice.

I hope that after all this time and procrastination this is not a folly.

Hey M8,
No, just going to start listing one or two a week until they are gone. I've seen prople put up a whole list at a time and it always seems to end up in grief. I'm going to go one thread per item or group of items. Once I get going I may list more at a time.

Did the Bob Dodgson stuff ever get popular here in the UK? That would have been back in 80's. His kit boxes were huge and a pain to ship. I bet no one here ever heard of him or his planes though. Great slopers, even his thermal planes.

Bob Dogson-
Windsong, sabre (did like the look of that one) etc. some nice looking models including a wing twist or two I believe, not that I ever saw one in the flesh so to speak. Always an 'if only' or 'maybe one day' situation for me.

Can't imagine having 175 kit's and not building them.

Hey Chip! Are you still doing the CR stuff? Great to hear from you . I was thinking about you the other day. There is this pair of blokes in the US that have been talking a bunch of smack about some super twisty they have been testing. They are bringing them over to the UK later this year. Someone has to make them be quiet so I guess it falls to me.

Have you got a heavy lay-up Contender fuse laying around? I don't need any hardware, I thought I might see just how much a bling drive can handle. I've caught myself doing the miniacle laugh bit once or twice thinking about it.

Feels good t think about slope again.

As they say, there is a fine line between a hobby and a mental illness.

Off to count my kits

Hey Paul,

I stock the Std Layup fuselages, with custom layups done by special order.

I recently did this CF fuselage for my Carbon Climmax Elite.

Pretty Sexy

Hey Chip,
What is the lead time if I wanted the front 2/3 doubled and extra kevalar on the sides from the front to behind the TE of the wing (a little back from the rear of the canopy opening)?

I'm going to gang drive the bling and increase the wing area. The ballast is going in the wings. There will be a fair amount of load where the bling bonds in that needs to be distributed. The extra kevalar on the sides will also tie the servo tray loads into the structure better.
