Procedure for using trainer function in NASA-701?

@ Skyartec-Michael

1. I set one transmitter to SLV, and the other to MAS.

2. In the MAS transmitter, I selected AT, for automatic detection of the student transmitter.

3. I then turned off the MAS transmitter.

4. After binding the student transmitter, I switched on the MAS transmitter, but the MAS transmitter does not seem to control the heli with ear up or down?

Can the student-trainer function be used without a wire connection between two NASA-701 s?

@Lentar

Please follow the steps below to set the student-trainer function:
1.Bind the receiver with the Student Transmitter in STD MODE(the Receiver can be bind with transmitter only in STD MODE)
2.Set the Student Transmitter to SLV MODE.
3.Set the Teacher Transmitter to MAS MODE and select AT.
4.Turn off all transmitters & receiver,
5.Turn on the Student Transmitter.
6.Turn on the receiver.
7.Turn on the Teacher Transmitter.
8.The Teacher Transmitter will beep once after successfully bind with the Student Transmitter.
9.Now you may use the student-trainer function without a wire connection between two NASA-701.
10.With the left ear down, the heli will be controlled by the Teacher Transmitter,
And with the left ear up, the heli will be controlled by the Student Transmitter.

Michael
I did this procedure, however when the left ear of Teacher transmitter is down, the heli LED turns off, and the servos do not work (from either teacher or student transmitter)

When the left ear of teacher transmitter is up, the heli led lights up and the student transmitter is able to move the servos.

When AT was flashing I pressed "Menu" once and then turned off the transmitter.

Update

OK, I managed to get this running, but I had to feed in the transmitter S/N values manually, how do you get the AT command to execute? When you see the flashing AT command, what do you do next?

Here are a couple of threads in a Taiwanese forum. Sorry, my written Chinese is too poor to translate them. In the second thread, the Taiwan distributor for Walkera suddenly stepped in and threatened to sue anyone who spoke badly of him and Walkera. A number of members got scared and modified their posts.

Since this has preceded the Super CP, it can't be its clone

But if you say its a mini CP clone........

@ Lentar Please press "EXIT" When AT is flashing to confirm the auto detect setting, I will take a video tomorrow to show all those steps more clearly.

As far as I know the mini cup doesn't use the same servos or Rx unit?

What is the reason behind shifting the mid point to 45%? To give a larger positive pitch range?

Maybe this is different in the world of micro CP helicopters. The larger birds that I configured are not like that.
Yeah I would think it is either programmed incorrectly or there is something lost in translation. I see no reason to have 50% not be 0 pitch in either mode unless you want to train your muscle memory for a non proper setup for all other properly setup CP helicopters

The rx unit is all theirs, but it uses a lot of the same parts as the minicp..which the superCP also uses most of the parts as well. Like the superCP both are based off the miniCP

If I purchase this micro, what are some common spares I should also order as well?...Parts likely to break or fail?

The actual values you are supposed to put in the pitch curve are:

30, 35, 45, 55, 60 (Normal flying)

25, 35, 45, 55, 65 (Stunt flying)

Whatever the actual values, it does not make a difference, as the value 25 gives maximum negative pitch, and 65 gives maximum positive pitch.

In both curves, 45 gives zero pitch at mid-throttle.

1. Spare canopy (unless you do the Scotch tape mod as in my review)
2. Landing gear
3. Tail rotor
4. Tail rotor cover
5. Tail boom

This is just a suggestion, as the heli seems quite robust. Actually the only part I had to replace was a tail rotor following a crash on stony ground. Flying over grass and hitting throttle hold when you run into trouble will minimize crash damage.
